Doug is a founding member of the firm and serves as a managing director and a member of the firm’s Investment Policy Committee. He has been continuously engaged in the investment management business since 1992. His clients include high-net-worth individuals, profit-sharing and 401(k) plans, trusts and estates.
He was born in New Orleans, La., and has lived in Mobile for nearly 40 years. He graduated from Auburn University in 1987 with a Bachelor of Science in finance. While at Auburn, he played for the University’s golf team, earning two varsity letters.
He practiced public and financial accounting before enrolling in the Manderson Graduate School of Business at The University of Alabama where he earned a Master of Business Administration in 1992. During graduate school, he was vice president of his MBA Class and earned an internship at the University of Alabama Productivity Center. In 2008, he received the Accredited Investment Fiduciary® (AIF®) designation from the Center for Fiduciary Studies in association with the University of Pittsburgh’s Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business.
Doug is married to the former Julie Carmichael of Montgomery, Ala., and they have two daughters, Libby and Caroline. He is a former president of the Mobile County Auburn Alumni Club.
